The Niagara Gazette, a daily newspaper in Niagara Falls, New York, has reported two people are dead after a vehicle exploded at Rainbow Bridge.
In the report, it was stated two occupants of a car were killed after the driver of the car sped into the wrong direction on Rainbow Bridge and continued to speed right into a border inspection booth.
Law Enforcement sources told the Niagara Gazette, “The car sped onto the bridge plaza, went through a fence separating the inbound lanes from the outbound lanes, and toward the inspection lanes where it exploded.”
A border protection agent was also injured in the blast but was taken to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Two occupants of a car that exploded after it sped the wrong way into an inspection booth at the Rainbow Bridge were killed in the blast, according to law enforcement sources at the scene.
The Wednesday morning incident shut down all international crossings in the Western New York area.
Traveling down Niagara Street, the car sped onto the bridge plaza, went through a fence separating the inbound lanes from the outbound lanes, and toward the inspection lanes where it exploded, according to law enforcement sources.
Two occupants in the car were killed in the explosion.
A border protection agent was injured in the blast. He’s being treated for non-life threatening injuries at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center, sources said.
Fox News initially reported explosions were in the car at the time of the attack but the report was later denied by the FBI.
Governor Kathy Hochul in a press conference stated there are no signs the accident was related to any terrorist activity.
