Great-aunt of the First American Hostage Released by Hamas is a Buyer of Hunter Biden’s Art

You can’t make this up.

Following the beginning of a brief truce between Israeli-Hamas, Abigail Edan, a 4-year-old American dual citizen kidnapped by Hamas on October 7, became the first American captive to be successfully released.

The first American hostage released by Hamas was Abigail Edanthe who just so happens to be the great-niece of Elizabeth Naftali, who has been a buy of Hunter Biden’s art.

The New York Post reported just eight months after purchasing Hunter’s art, Joe Biden appointed Naftali to his Commission for the Preservation of America’s Heritage Abroad in July of 2022.

CNN confirmed Liz Hirsh Naftali was the great aunt of Abigail.

According to CNN, Abigail’s great-aunt thanked Biden, the Qatari government, and other “informal actors” involved in releasing hostages held by Hamas in a joint statement Sunday.

“We hoped and prayed today would come. There are no words to express our relief and gratitude that Abigail is safe and coming home,” Liz Hirsh Naftali and Noa Naftali said in the statement.

“We will continue to stand with the families of all the hostages still held captive, and we remain committed as ever to securing their safe and swift return,” they added.

Here was Naftali just days before her niece was released:

Previously the House Oversight Committee demanded documents from Naftali due to her purchase of Hunter Biden’s art.

Here’s what The New York Post reported:

The House Oversight Committee is demanding documents from a high-powered Democratic donor who purchased artwork by Hunter Biden.

Elizabeth Hirsch Naftali, a Los Angeles-based real estate investor, and philanthropist, was named as one of the buyers by Business Insider earlier this week.

Naftali raised further eyebrows after news emerged she visited the White House at least a dozen times.

Elizabeth Hirsch Naftali, a Los Angeles-based real-estate investor is a connoisseur of Hunter Biden’s art.
President Biden additionally appointed Naftali to his Commission for the Preservation of America’s Heritage Abroad in July 2022 — roughly eight months after Hunter’s first art show in Hollywood.

“These facts raise the Committee’s concerns, and the Committee seeks documents and information regarding your purchase of Hunter Biden art,” the committee wrote to Naftali in a letter Saturday. “Your position on the Commission is particularly suspicious because of Hunter Biden’s previous actions to elevate his business partner — Eric Schwerin — to the same post while his father was Vice President.”
