Semafor has reported Tucker Carlson met with NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden while he was in Moscow for his interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Initially granted asylum in Russia in 2013 following the release of classified NSA documents, Snowden obtained permanent resident status in 2020. In that year, he expressed his intent to pursue dual citizenship, emphasizing his desire to remain united with his family.
Reportedly, Carlson engaged in extensive discussions with Snowden, but the meeting wasn’t recorded as an interview.
Carlson did conduct an interview with Tara Reade, a former Senate aide who later accused President Joe Biden of sexual assault—an allegation Biden has refuted.
After expressing increasingly supportive views of Russian policies, Reade relocated to Russia. She was invited by the Russian UN delegation in 2022 to address issues related to “weapons diversion,” and she even featured Russia’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN on her YouTube channel.
