Trump Speaks Out After Judge Threatened Him With Jail If He Skips Court To Attend Barron’s Graduation

On Monday, Donald Trump voiced his concern that he might miss his son Barron’s high school graduation ceremony due to his ‘Hush Money’ trial in New York.

Ahead of jury selection, New York Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan disclosed receiving requests from Trump’s legal team for Trump to be excused from the trial on May 17, allowing him to attend Barron Trump’s high school graduation in Florida.

Merchan stated that he had not yet decided whether to accept Trump’s plea to reschedule the trial for that day.

After his first day in court, the 45th President responded to Merchan’s indecision and told the press, “I was looking forward to that graduation with his mother and father there.”

“It looks like the judge isn’t allow me to escape this scam. It’s a scam trial.” added Trump.

Merchan also ruled Trump would be jailed if he disrupted the proceedings by not showing up to court.

Donald Trump may have to miss out on his son Barron’s high school graduation ceremony next month due to the timing of the former president’s first historic criminal trial.

Trump’s hush-money trial kicked off with jury selection on Monday in a Manhattan courtroom.

As the court prepared for the first day of voir dire, New York Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan said he received requests from Trump’s attorneys for the former president to skip out on the trial on May 17 so that he could attend Barron Trump’s high school graduation in Florida.

Merchan said that he would not yet rule on Donald Trump’s request to not have the trial held that day.

“It really depends on if we are on time and where we are in the trial,” Merchan explained.
