A multi-state manhunt is underway after Robert Card, 40, reportedly shot and killed over 18 people and left dozens of others injured in Lewiston, Maine.
With very little details released on the shooter, dozens of users on X quickly googled Robert Card on Google and discovered there was a Robert Card that was registered to Maine’s sex offender registry.
However it seems to be a coincidence, because according to Central Maine the Robert Card that was placed on the sex offender registry is Robert W. Card and not Robert R. Card, who is the main suspect of the mass shooting in Maine.

It appears authorities took down the Maine Sex offender registry to stop the public from sharing the wrong information claiming Robert W. Card is the shooter however news publication Central Maine has kept up the original article reporting Robert W. Card being arrested for child pornography back in 2016.
