Media mogul Oprah Winfrey has been hospitalized due to a stomach flu.
During an airing of CBS Mornings, Winfrey’s best friend Gayle King shared Oprah was hospitalized due to a stomach bug.
King told viewers “She had some kind of stomach thing where – stomach flu where stuff was coming out of both ends. I won’t get too graphic.”
King added “But needless to say, she ended up in the hospital, dehydration, she had an IV, so it was a very serious thing.”

The CBS Mornings anchor revealed Oprah Winfrey had to cancel her appearance on the morning show June 11, during which she was going to discuss her latest pick for Oprah’s Book Club, David Wroblewski’s Familiaris, after coming down with the stomach flu. And Gayle did not hold back on sharing the details.
“She had some kind of stomach thing, stomach flu, stuff was coming out of both ends. I won’t get too graphic.”
In fact, Gayle revealed that Oprah’s stomach bug was so bad, she “ended up in the hospital” and was severely dehydrated.
Oprah’s hospitalization comes just six months after Winfrey stepped off the board of Weight Watchers due to using the weight loss drug Ozempic.
