A fire erupted at the Scranton Army Ammunition Plant on Monday afternoon.
Emergency responders rushed to the heat treat building in downtown Scranton, Pennsylavnia, at approximately 3:20 p.m.
Firefighters swiftly extinguished the flames upon arrival, no injuries were reported, and all staff members were able to safely exit the facilities.
Authorities are currently assessing the extent of the damage caused by the fire and its potential implications for production at the 495,000-square-foot facility operated by General Dynamics.
The cause of the fire is being investigated by Lackawanna County fire officials.

Crews from the Scranton Fire Department responded to General Dynamics along Cedar Ave. for a reported structure fire around 3 p.m.
The fire inspector told FOX56 that a fire was reported on the production line but was able to be extinguished. No injuries were reported in the incident.
“There was a fire in one of their quenching maps, along one of their furnaces,” John Judge, Scranton Fire Chief. “There was a significant amount of smoke throughout their complex. Firefighters were able to control it within about 30-45 minutes. After that it was just about making sure it didn’t reignite.”
